This is interesting, but I have something to say about the name "Marijuana", that name is a deformation of the original one, Marihuana. "MariJuana" was adopted -as many other deformed names- by the difficulty of U.S.A. people to pronounce the original name and someone took "María" and "Juana" -both standard names for women en latin america and Spain- and composed "MariJuana".
I think "weed" could be more accurate, or "indic canabis" for that matter.
